Beksiński belongs to a small circle of Polish artists whose work is recognizable at home and abroad. Since October 2016, 50 paintings from a private collection of art dealers and friends of the late artist, Anna and Piotr Dmochowski, have been displayed at a permanent exhibition in NCK (Nowa Huta Cultural Centre). Most of the oil paintings exhibited in the Gallery date back to the 1980s, the so-called “fantastic period” in the painter’s activity. It was then that he created his best-known – now iconic – works.
