The Huta Sztuki Gallery of the C.K. Norwid Cultural Centre is dedicated to Kraków artists connected with Nowa Huta, who created their works here in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. The gallery refers to the tradition of the RYTM Gallery, which operated in the communist times seeking to bring together Nowa Huta’s artistic community and promote the visual arts. It is a unique place where visitors can discover the history of the district through art. The exhibition includes works, examples of socialist realism, matter painting, and contemporary prints and paintings.

Until 8 August 2026, the gallery presents the exhibition House of Art. House of People. 70 Years of the Norwid Cultural Centre. It is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the former Lenin Steelworks’ House of Culture, renamed to C.K. Norwid Cultural Centre, and to the history of the cultural institution established at the Steelworks.

Planned for 18 September 2026 is the opening of a new exhibition based on the gallery’s collection, designed to be accessible to visitors with special needs.

In 2026, the gallery will also be closed on the following dates: 3–4 April, 1–2 May, 4–6 June, 10 August–17 September, 11 November, and 23–31 December.

Information for people with disabilities

The gallery has a separate entrance from ul. Obrońców Krzyża. It is located on the ground floor of the building. The entrance is directly from pavement level. The entrance door is wide enough, there are no steps, and the threshold is minimal.

The gallery consists of four exhibition rooms on two levels. Three rooms are located on the ground floor. There is sufficient manoeuvring space on the ground floor, the passages between rooms are wide enough, and there are no steps or thresholds. One exhibition room is located on level -1 and can only be accessed by stairs. There is no lift in the gallery.

The gallery is mainly lit by artificial lighting, including ceiling and side spotlights. The lighting is low, and the space is semi-dark. The gallery is not air-conditioned.

Please note that large display trolleys, sculptures on plinths, and lounge furniture may make movement more difficult.

A toilet is located on the ground floor. It is not accessible to visitors with disabilities.
