The Archaeological Museum in Kraków is one of the largest of its kind in this part of Europe and ranks among the oldest in the world. Founded in 1850, in its long history it has accumulated an extensive collection of approximately 800,000 artefacts of great scientific and exhibition value. The collection comprises donations from explorers and collectors, primarily materials from archaeological research. The Museum offers a wide range of educational activities and workshops for children, young people and adults. It also presents temporary exhibitions.

Please note that in 2026, due to the modernisation works on the exhibition premises and the entrance area on ul. Poselska, the Museum only offers one permanent exhibition, “Prehistory and the Middle Ages of Małopolska” while the others and the garden are temporarily unavailable.
