MNK Czapscy Museum is the oldest branch of the National Museum in Kraków. Its heart is the neoclassical Czapski Palace, built in 1884 for Count Emeryk Hutten-Czapski, the most distinguished Polish collector of coins and medals. After his death, the collection was opened to the public as a private museum and, in 1903, was donated to the National Museum.

Today, the palace houses a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of Polish coinage and medallic art, as well as displays of rare books and manuscripts. The museum complex also includes the Józef Czapski Pavilion – the world's only biographical museum dedicated to the artist – and a historic garden with a lapidarium.

The branch is home to more than 100,000 objects, and its activities include research, conservation, and educational programmes. MNK Czapski Museum remains one of Poland's leading centres for the study and promotion of numismatics and the history of the written word.
