The Museum of Engineering and Technology is housed in a unique complex of historic tram depot buildings. It is the only site in Europe that fully documents the development of public transport from horse-drawn trams to contemporary buses. The depot, located at ul. św. Wawrzyńca 15, stands in the heart of Kraków’s Kazimierz district, one of the city’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods and only a short distance from the Main Market Square.

“The City. Technosensitivity” exhibition is Poland’s first such comprehensive narrative about the transformation of the city and the inventions that have changed the lives of its inhabitants. It presents more than 600 objects from 12 fields of engineering. The exhibits include a Frania washing machine, a locomobile, a 1936 Fiat 508, prototypes of Polish cars, including the Beskid 106, a Bungalow New World gas stove, and an Odra 1305 computer — a symbol of Polish innovation.
