In 2007, the Museum of Kraków acquired a building at ul. Księcia Józefa 337. It was intended to serve as the Museum’s central storage facility. While its adaptation plans were made in 2008–09, it was decided that visitors should be given access to some of the collections normally kept in storage. This made it possible to show the educational value of objects that are usually not on public display. This is how the idea of a modern facility combining storage and exhibition formed.

Thanks to glass-walled storage spaces and a special visitor route, guests can see collections of Kraków nativity scenes, crafts, furniture, coins, weapons, prints, textiles, and paintings, among other objects. The technical character of the storage facility is softened by carefully designed display elements.

Estimated visiting time: 75 min
